Hi. I have just discovered this website after receiving death certificate for my great grandfather which shows he died at Eastville Workhouse in 1887. He was John Maggs of Winterbourne, and he died of smallpox. I would love to know more about the details surrounding his stay, death and burial, and I am very interested to know more about the memorial and your group. I live in South Wales but I will be travelling to Winterbourne for the first time Thursday 26th May 2022 to have a wander around the area in which my ancestors lived. I love in hope of one day finding a photograph of John Maggs.
