Chris Coates

Former: squatter, street performer, communard, building site labourer, carpenter, cohousing pioneer, Green Party city and county councillor and engineer of the imagination. Chris has been involved in writing and small-scale publishing since the launch of Diggers and Dreamers in 1989: He is the author of four books. Two on the history of utopian experiments and communal living in the UK; Utopia Britannica and Communes Britannica, the autobiographical A Life in Common and a children’s book titled This Little Piggy Stayed at Home.
