Kirsten Harris is a Senior Lecturer and Director of Teaching in Liberal Arts at the University of Bristol. She is the author of Walt Whitman and British Socialism: The Love of Comrades (Routledge, 2016), and her research spans three closely connected areas: utopian studies, nineteenth-century socialism, and the work of the American poet Walt Whitman. From 2021 to 2024, she served on the editorial team of Utopian Studies. She regularly gives public talks and leads community workshops exploring utopian thought and the relationship between art and social change.
