{"id":9854,"date":"2019-04-12T19:54:24","date_gmt":"2019-04-12T19:54:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.brh.org.uk\/site\/?post_type=events&#038;p=9854"},"modified":"2020-01-06T20:57:30","modified_gmt":"2020-01-06T20:57:30","slug":"room-2-art-and-war","status":"publish","type":"events","link":"https:\/\/www.brh.org.uk\/site\/events\/room-2-art-and-war\/","title":{"rendered":"Art and War"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>\u2018A Colour Chart for Killing\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Jude Hutchen, the artist behind one of the festival exhibitions, A Colour Chart for Killing, talks about her work and art and war resistance.<\/p>\n<p>Her exhibition is showing in Bristol Central Library, College Green, Bristol BS1 5TL 1 April \u2013 3 May.<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018The Art of Recovery\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Al Johnson is a sculptor, and director of Art for Bravo 22 a programme for recovery through the arts. Al will talk about her role and the development of The Art of Recovery a sculpture project for wounded, injured and sick service personnel and their family members. During the four-week Art of Recovery course participants work with Al to create life size wire and mesh figures that communicate the experience of injury and associated mental health problems, including PTSD. One of the participants, Ian Rudge, a military veteran from Manchester, will talk about the sculpture he made, and how the project has improved his confidence and mental health Al Johnson is also exhibiting &#8216;The Lost Files&#8217;, her installation about the conscientious objectors of WW1 during the festival.
