Anyone who saw Michael Mears\u2019 one-man show \u2018This Evil Thing<\/em>\u2019 in Bristol Cathedral in October 2017 will know what a powerful piece of theatre it is. We are now pleased to present two new performances, linked to the Commemoration, Conflict & Conscience<\/em> festival at the end of April. The two performances (3.30pm <\/strong>and 7.30pm<\/strong>) take place on Sunday April 21st \u2013 Easter Sunday<\/strong> in the atmospheric surroundings of the crypt of St John the Baptist Church<\/strong>, one of Bristol\u2019s oldest medieval buildings.<\/p>\n

The play brings together the stories of Bert Brocklesby, a schoolteacher and preacher at his Methodist chapel and Bertrand Russell, one of the greatest philosophers of his time.\u00a0 With the advent of military conscription their worlds are about to be turned upside down.<\/p>\n
