An evening of nautical intrigue!<\/p>\n

\u200b<\/span>Author Rosemary Caldicott will be telling us about her new book<\/a> in\u00a0which she investigated\u00a0the intriguing, often tragic, histories of Bristol’s nautical women (some who dressed as men to get to sea). Living in\u00a0Bristol,\u00a0we’re all\u00a0quite\u00a0familiar with images of sailing ships – but the focus is usually on the men\u00a0who built or worked on them. Rosemary wants\u00a0to bring to life a\u00a0forgotten\u00a0history – women sailors and the women of sailor towns.<\/p>\n

This event will be held in the lovely, quirky surroundings of Glenside Museum – together with some rousing sea shanties and perhaps a tot of rum!\u00a0 For booking and more details see here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
